MetaTrader 5

The PlanningTrade connector runs inside your own MT5 terminal and pushes your deal history and every new trade to your journal with an API key.

IP and login: Nothing logs into your trading account from outside. Data is sent out from the terminal you already trade on, so your prop firm sees the same IP and the same session it always has.

  2. 2.Install it in your MT5 terminal following the in-app instructions and restart MetaTrader 5
  3. 3.Attach the PlanningTrade connector to any chart
  4. 4.Paste your API key in the API_KEY parameter, enable “Allow live trading”, click OK
  5. 5.All history the trade server provides syncs automatically, then every future trade follows

MetaTrader 4

Forex and CFDs on MT4

The same connector, built for MT4. It reads the Account History you load in the terminal and forwards it to your journal.

IP and login: Runs inside your terminal with your existing login. No third-party server connects to your broker on your behalf.

  1. 1.Download the MT4 connector from the app
  2. 2.Install it in your MT4 terminal following the in-app instructions and restart MetaTrader 4
  3. 3.In the Account History tab, right-click and choose “All History” so the full record is loaded
  4. 4.Attach the PlanningTrade connector to any chart, paste your API key, enable “Allow live trading”
  5. 5.Loaded history syncs first, then every new trade

cTrader

Forex and CFDs on cTrader

The PlanningTrade connector for cTrader, added under Algo › cBots. It syncs your trades to the journal the same way the MetaTrader connectors do.

IP and login: The connector runs in your own cTrader instance. Your broker login never leaves cTrader.

  1. 1.Download the cTrader connector from the app
  2. 2.In cTrader open Algo › cBots › New and pick “Add an existing algorithm”
  3. 3.Add the downloaded file
  4. 4.Paste your API key in the settings, click “Start cBot” and accept the access request
  5. 5.Trades sync automatically from then on

NinjaTrader and Tradovate

Futures, including prop firm evaluation and funded accounts hosted on Tradovate

A read-only connection through Tradovate’s OAuth login. You sign in with Tradovate, PlanningTrade receives permission to read your activity, and your fills are imported and matched into round-trip trades. One connection covers NinjaTrader and Tradovate because they share the same brokerage infrastructure.

IP and login: Read-only: PlanningTrade can see activity but cannot place, modify or cancel orders. You never enter your Tradovate password anywhere except Tradovate.

  1. 1.In the app click Add Trades › Connect your platform › Futures
  2. 2.Choose the account environment. Prop firm evaluation and funded accounts run on Tradovate’s demo environment, so pick Demo for those
  3. 3.Click “Connect with Tradovate” and sign in on Tradovate’s page
  4. 4.Your futures trades appear in the journal and keep syncing

Auto-sync questions

Will auto-sync trigger my prop firm’s IP or login checks?
The MetaTrader and cTrader connectors run inside the terminal you already trade from, so there is no additional login event and no new IP address. The NinjaTrader/Tradovate connection is a read-only OAuth grant made from your own browser. Always confirm your firm’s policy; rules vary by provider.
Is auto-sync free?
Yes, on both plans. The free plan includes auto-sync; its 50-trade limit still counts synced trades. See the pricing page for every limit.
Which platforms are not supported yet?
Anything not listed here. Most other platforms can still be imported: MT4 and MT5 HTML statements, and CSV exports from cTrader and most brokers. Any trade can also be added manually.
